What is included
- A read of the formatted pages for typos, spelling and punctuation
- Checks for layout slips such as repeated words, odd breaks and inconsistent headings
- Marked-up corrections you can approve
- A written quote before work starts
What is not included
- Rewriting or restructuring (that is editing)
- Fact-checking
- Cover or layout redesign

Questions
Is proofreading the same as editing?
No. Editing improves the writing. Proofreading is the last check for errors after editing and layout.
When should proofreading happen?
After formatting. Layout can add new errors, so proofreading unformatted text is not enough.
How is proofreading priced?
Usually per word or per page. We give you one written quote with the word count it is based on.
